Reinsurance Demo — the module guide
The Reinsurance Demo is the worked book for the reinsurance suite. It carries data only, no code of its own. It installs on top of the modules that do the work: Reinsurance, Loss Modelling, Pricing, Underwriting, Claims, SST and IFRS 17. It is meant for anyone who wants to see the suite on a realistic book before loading their own: underwriters, claims handlers, actuaries, finance, and the people evaluating the platform for them. Every screen it opens is a real, fully interactive screen of those modules, run against sample data.
The story it tells
The demo follows one reinsurer through a treaty year. It holds a motor third-party liability (MTPL) programme written for several years. Over those years it has received claims, and each claim has been developed year by year. The renewal submission for the next year now arrives with its own claims bordereau.
- The MTPL programme. The bound vintages and the renewal under assessment, with the renewal's economics (the deal in numbers and charts), a commented comparison of its bordereau against our claims book, and our offer.
- The intake thread. How the renewal pack arrived: the broker's e-mail, its attachments parsed in sub-threads, the bordereau reconciled, an enquiry drafted, and the underwriter's decisions. Every tool call and every node change is on the record.
- Our claims. Five MTPL claims with multi-year developments. Each claim has its own file storage for advices and adjuster reports.
- The reconciliation. The renewal's reported bordereau joined against our records. Matching claims are confirmed. Two claims where the pack reports more outstanding than we hold can be taken over as a development or answered with an enquiry asking the cedent for a formal advice. One claim is new to us, and one is missing from the bordereau. These discrepancies are declared on purpose in the dataset, so the reconciliation always has something real to show.
The cedent packs
The Demo Setup page imports the shipped cedent packs into a space of your own with one click: 16 simulated cedents with 18 programmes over two renewal years, covering per-occurrence, per-risk and aggregate excess of loss, quota share and stop loss. The import also builds a claims book from the in-force years' large losses and attaches every pack document (submissions, workbooks, contracts, listings, triangles and loss reports) to the node it belongs to. The import is idempotent, and what it creates is yours to edit. After the import, every renewal submission has its own claims reconciliation against the book.
The same book, through every module
- Underwriting samples. Four submissions tell the four verdict stories (a continuity write, a distressed referral to the chief underwriting officer, a profitable increase and a hard decline), plus two decisions: one waiting for its four-eyes sign-off and one approved and ready to bind.
- Cedents and brokers. One cedent node per ceding company, each with its programme README, and one broker node per broking house the packs came through.
- IFRS 17 measurement. A small life book (a Swiss endowment and an annuity written in one currency and measured in another) exercises the analysis-of-change engine's currency steps. An MTPL group measures the programme's liability for incurred claims under the premium allocation approach, starting from the same claims register, so a claim development moves the liability too.
- Swiss Solvency Test. The book's SST 2026 filing under FINMA's StandRe model: parameter segments for reserve and premium risk, scenarios from the prescribed catalogue with severities derived from this book, the model run and the resulting one-year risk capital and SST ratio. The model's result page runs the chain live, so changing a selected coefficient of variation on a segment recomputes the decomposition.
Guided tours
Three tours run on the live screens. A floating card shows where to click while you navigate:
- Guided walkthrough. From the desk register down into a single claim's development and back out, in about five minutes.
- The Swiss Solvency Test. Why the test exists, what the one-year change is, the five StandRe components, how scenarios become a distribution, and where the capital number and the ratio come from.
- The SST module. The module itself, type by type, and the tests that hold it together.
A typical session
- Start the guided walkthrough to get oriented.
- Open the renewal's reconciliation and resolve the differences: take a figure over, or raise an enquiry.
- Read the economics and the offer, then follow the claims into IFRS 17 and the SST filing.
- Import the cedent packs into your own space and work a second renewal from scratch.
What you get when you subscribe
A subscription installs the demo book next to the suite's modules: the MTPL programme and its renewal, the claims book, the reconciliation, the underwriting samples, the IFRS 17 and SST strands, the guided tours and the cedent-pack importer. Because the demo is pure data, you can change, extend or discard it without touching the modules it runs on.
