Social Media — author once, distribute everywhere
The Social Media package is the base of the social suite. It gives a team one place to write, review and schedule posts, independent of the network they go out on, and it is the package the channel plugins — LinkedIn, X and YouTube — build on. It opens as the Social Media app, with a section for the channels and a section for campaigns.
One post, every channel
A Post is written once. Its content holds:
- the text exactly as it will appear on the network — the post body is the truth, there is no separate preview copy to keep in sync;
- the author the post goes out under, with headline and picture;
- the publishing slot, empty while it is not yet scheduled;
- the status — Draft, Approved, Scheduled, Published — advanced one step at a time;
- the target profiles it goes out on, chosen under Goes out on in the editor and stored as
PostTargetchildren of the post; - once live, the URL of the published post.
The post's page shows it the way readers will see it: a 1:1 rendering of the LinkedIn feed card — avatar, name, headline, schedule line, full text, action bar — and below it the fold previews, what a reader sees above the "…see more" cut on desktop (about 210 characters) and on mobile (about 140). The previews are computed from the text, so you notice a weak opening line while you can still fix it.
The publishing hub
A team's publishing space is a Posts hub. Its front page is the Timeline: every upcoming post, grouped by day, next slot first. With the Marketing package installed, the Timeline also shows events and running campaigns — per day the events first, then the campaigns, then the posts — so you plan each post in sight of the moment it serves. Without Marketing it is simply the post feed.
Next to it, the Posts page is a LinkedIn-style feed of every post in the hub, newest edit first, with one tab per author and a shared search bar. Each card shows the post cut at the desktop fold, its status and its target profiles; a click opens the post.
The interface follows the viewer's language — English and German.
Writing with /post
The package brings the /post skill to your chat once you have installed it. It walks a draft
through the structure that works on a professional feed: a hook in the first two lines, one idea
developed in short paragraphs, the takeaway stated plainly, and a single call to action that
invites a reply. It also knows where a post lives — one node per post in the hub — and how it moves
from draft to approval to schedule to publication.
A typical workflow
- Open your Posts hub and start a chat thread:
/post a short post about <your topic>. - The draft becomes a Post node; set the author and, under Goes out on, the target profiles.
- While it is a Draft, let a colleague comment on the post itself; the author profile's owner then presses Approve.
- Once approved, give it a slot. It appears on the Timeline at that day.
- Publish, set the status to Published and add the URL.
- Read the result in the channel package's analytics — the LinkedIn, X or YouTube dashboard.
How the channel packages fit
The channel packages require this one. Each adds what is specific to its network:
- LinkedIn rebuilds your profile and post performance from LinkedIn's official data export, and documents publishing — see How to post.
- X computes a posting calendar and statistics from your X data archive.
- YouTube computes a publish calendar and statistics from your channel's public videos.
Marketing adds events and campaigns to the same timeline.
What you get when you subscribe
The SocialMedia/Post and SocialMedia/PostsHub types, compiled live on your mesh with their
preview, feed and timeline pages and their test suites; the Social Media app; and the /post
skill in your chat. The package ships no personal data: your posts live in your own publishing
space.
