The whole derivation is one line —
premium at 100% = rate on line × limit— and the exercise is really about believing what it produces on the real 2027 tower.
The derivation
static double Premium100(Layer l) => l.RateOnLine * l.Limit;
- Layer 1:
0.078 × 7,000,000= 546,000 - Layer 2:
0.034 × 15,000,000= 510,000 - Total 1,056,000; blended rate on line
1,056,000 / 22,000,000= 4.80%
What the numbers say
Rate on line prices a unit of limit, so the thin, exposed Layer 1 costs 7.8% per unit while the thick, remote Layer 2 costs 3.4% — yet Layer 2's sheer width (15m) brings its premium within 36,000 of Layer 1's. When you look at the tower on the live Structure tab, that is the picture to see: height is exposure, width×rate is money.
Live and green
Implement Premium100 as rate on line × limit for the Alpina MTPL XL 2027 tower and show the battery grid all green: Layer 1 at 546,000, Layer 2 at 510,000, total 1,056,000, blended rate on line 4.80%.
