First things first: your answer is not wrong because it looks different. These are just ideas from other kids — yours can be completely different and just as good.
Forty uses from the lab
The ones everybody has (great to get warmed up): a house, a car, a boat, a robot costume, a hiding place, a bed for the cat, a table, a drum.
Now it gets interesting: a marble run, a puppet theatre, a letterbox for secret messages, a tunnel for toy cars, a sledge for the living room, a shield for a knight, a pinhole camera, a picture frame.
The ones nobody else has ✨: a hat for a giraffe, a time machine (with buttons drawn on), an ant hotel with 100 rooms, a «bad mood box» you shout into, a shoe for a giant, a pizza oven for dolls, a helmet that makes you invisible (on Tuesdays), a snow-fort brick, a museum for your smallest treasures.
What makes a list strong?
- It is long. Kids who kept going to 20 or 30 almost always found their favourite idea late.
- It changes direction. Size (huge/tiny), users (animal, baby, astronaut) and actions (cut, fold, paint) each open a whole new batch of ideas.
- It has at least one idea that makes you laugh. Laughing is a sign that your brain made an unexpected connection — that's creativity at work.
