Explainer video — Lesson 1: The Magic Wish
Status: script, not yet produced. The finished video goes at the top of Lesson 1.
Target: ~1:30 · 16:9 · 1080p+ · captions ON (the reader is ten — captions are not optional).
Palette: violet #7c3aed, pink #db2777, gold #fbbf24, deep background #1e1b4b → #4c1d95, white type.
Voice: warm, unhurried, ~125 wpm — slower than a grown-up explainer, with a real pause after every question.
Music: light, playful, ducked −20 dB under voice.
Rules for this course's videos, and they are not style preferences:
- No computer word goes unexplained. If a word has to appear, the very next sentence says what it means in ordinary language.
- Show the wish, then the result. Never the code. The code is lesson 2's business, and only as a peek.
- Nothing on screen the narrator does not say. A ten-year-old reading captions cannot also decode a busy diagram.
How to use this script
Same pipeline as the other course videos: one scene = one slide (HeyGen/Synthesia), or one ~8 s clip per GEN PROMPT (Veo/Sora) with narration generated separately (ElevenLabs) and layered — never model speech.
Scene 1 — Software used to be something you got · 0:00–0:20
VOICEOVER: Every game you have ever played, somebody built. And if you wanted something different — you waited. Or you did without.
ON SCREEN: A child at a screen scrolling past game after game, none quite right. A small thought-bubble game flickers and fades.
OVERLAY: You took what there was.
GEN PROMPT: 'Warm flat-illustration animation, a child scrolling a glowing screen showing rows of game thumbnails, a faint thought bubble with a different game fading out, dark violet background, storybook style, no text.'
Scene 2 — Now you can just ask · 0:20–0:45
VOICEOVER: Now something new is possible. You describe what you want — in your own words, out loud — and an agent builds it. That is called software on demand. Software you can simply wish for.
ON SCREEN: The child speaks. A gold speech bubble rises and blooms into a small working game on the screen.
OVERLAY: Software on demand.
GEN PROMPT: 'Warm flat-illustration animation, a child speaking, a golden speech bubble rising and transforming into a colourful playable game on a screen, gold sparkle trail, dark violet background, storybook style, no text.'
Scene 3 — The one big rule · 0:45–1:12
VOICEOVER: There is one rule, and it is the whole secret. You say WHAT you want. Never HOW to build it. You are the one who orders the pizza — you do not go into the kitchen and knead the dough.
ON SCREEN: Split screen. Left: a child ordering at a counter, happy. Right: the same child in a chef's hat, elbow-deep in dough, exhausted. Left glows; right greys out.
OVERLAY: Say WHAT. Never HOW.
GEN PROMPT: 'Warm flat-illustration animation, split screen, left a happy child ordering pizza at a counter bathed in warm light, right the same child in a chef hat struggling with dough in grey desaturated tones, storybook style, no text.'
Scene 4 — Your turn · 1:12–1:30
VOICEOVER: So — what do you wish for? A game? A card for somebody you like? Say what you see, what happens, and what makes it fun. That is a perfect wish.
ON SCREEN: Three small icons appear in a row: an eye, a pointing hand, a party popper. Each lights up as it is named.
OVERLAY: See · Happens · Fun
GEN PROMPT: 'Warm flat-illustration animation, three glowing icons appearing in a row on dark violet, an eye, a pointing hand, a party popper, each lighting up in sequence with gold sparkles, storybook style, no text.'
