Your mission. Solve the case of the endless game, then wish for a whole game with no holes in it — let the agent check it, build it, and play it.
A small wish is one thing that happens. A game is bigger, so your wish has to answer three more questions:
| The question | Example | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | How do you play? What does the player actually do? | "You click the mole that pops up." |
| 2 | What are the rules? What is allowed, what counts? | "Every mole is one point. Click an empty hole and you lose a heart." |
| 3 | How do you win — or lose? Every game needs an ending. | "Twenty points and you win. No hearts left and it's over." |
Without an ending, a game goes on forever and gets boring. That's why question 3 is the one people forget most — and why the first case below exists.
1 · The case of the endless game 🕵️
2 · The robot grandmother test 👵🤖
Before anything gets built, let the agent find the holes in a game wish. The box holds a game wish that works — change it into your game first (other animals, other rules, your own ending). The agent will not build anything yet; it asks you the questions a player would ask.
Don't build anything yet! Read my game wish and ask me the three questions a player would ask that my wish does not answer yet. My game: moles pop out of nine holes in a green lawn. When I click a mole it goes «bonk» and I get a point. If I click an empty hole, I lose one of my three hearts. At twenty points I win and fireworks go off; with no hearts left, the moles laugh and the game is over.
Every question it asks is a gift: it is a hole the agent would otherwise have filled with a guess.
3 · Build it and play it 🎮
Now put your answers into your wish and send it for real. The box starts with the full mole game — make it yours, including the answers to the robot's questions.
/code I wish for a game: moles pop out of nine holes in a green lawn. When I click a mole it goes «bonk» and I get a point. If I click an empty hole, I lose one of my three hearts. The moles get a little faster every five points. At twenty points I win and fireworks go off; with no hearts left, the moles laugh at me and the game is over, and I can press «Play again».
Play it: does it keep your rules? Does it end the way you said? If something is missing, just tell the agent — you may wish again as often as you like.
👵 Bonus — the human grandmother test. Read your wish out loud to somebody and ask: "What would you build if I said that to you?" If they describe your game, your wish is strong. Real engineers do exactly this and call it a review (someone else reads your work before it gets built).
Done? Look at the solution — the case files, and a game wish without holes.
